Located on the west coast of Indian coastline, Goa is the smallest state of India. Though the smallest Indian state,  Goa  is one of the major tourist destination in India. Its palm covered beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, pristine scenic beauty, majestic churches and temples attract many tourists from all over the world. Goa is a land of dreams and romance..it has a timeless charm in its peaceful, warm and friendly people, in its age-old markets, in its old Portuguese colonies and in its stretches of unspoiled sand along the ocean.

Beaches of Goa:  Certainly, Goa minus beaches is nothing.  These beaches are the places that make it so unique from rest of India in culture, atmosphere and enjoyment. Goa beaches are known worldwide for their scenic charm with the combination of sun, sand and sea.  Covered by green palm and coconut trees with the colorful comfortable shacks and huts offering variety of services,  no other place in India is as charming as Goa.

Calangute Beach, Morjim Beach, Candolim Beach, Anjuna Beach and Baga Beach are the famous beaches in North Goa, while Colva beach, Varca Beach, Palolem Beach and Benaulim beach are the most exotic beaches of South Goa.

Churches of Goa: Although Goa is famous for its beaches, but nearly 450 years of Portuguese rule in Goa left its marks in a remarkable way.  Goa is the home of some magnificent churches built in remarkable Indo-European Style, and count among the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These churches are not only an impressive structures of stones, but they are the witness of the fusion of Indian and Portuguese cultures and many unforgettable moments in the history of Goa.

Basically, The famous churches are situated in the Old Goa. Because of these churches only, once Goa rivaled Rome and it was famous as Rome of the East. The list of the famous churches includes Basilica Of Bom Jesus, Chapel Of St. Catherine, Church of St. Francis of Assisi , Se Cathedral Church, St. Augustine Church etc with the many other churches located in and around Goa.

Lifestyle:  Lifestyle and culture in Goa is unique and sometimes it looks totally different from rest of India. You can find many people lying on the beach with a beer in the hand, honeymooners walking along the beaches, priests carrying the Holy Bible near the churches and local people chasing tourists to increase their revenue.  Life in Goa never stops and keep on moving. People are calm, relax and happy in their own world without any worry. Perhaps, this was the main reason why Goa attracted Hippies from all over the world decades ago , who used to live in their own world of spirituality, smoke, drugs and carelessness. Along-with all these beach lazing, there are also the holistic treatments including the temples, churches and mosques to divert your attention from the beach and beer.

Nightlife in Goa:   If there is a talk about the life in Goa, how can a person miss its nightlife? There is always a party in Goa after a relaxed day on the beach.  Options are multiple ranging from clubs, pubs to local markets and from beaches, bars to the famous cruises on Mandavi River. There are live music and dance entertainment shows in various clubs, cruises and bars.  Majority of these clubs are located in Calangute and Baga Beach Area. Apart from this, there are also a few night markets which are worth the visit for the food, entertainment and shopping.

Goa is much more than just beaches and sea. It has a rich legacy of Indo-European Architecture, Cultural Fusion and some of the most beautiful landscapes offered in India. It is a land of dreams and desire. It is a land of joy. If you also wish to feel the rhythms of Goa, then Go Goa..Drink, Eat and Relax..
